This year Agriculture, Environment and the Humanities (AEH) explored interdisciplinary representations of agricultural humanities, with a focus on rethinking new modes of agriculture and practices of sustainability. To this end, AEH orchestrated academic events such as workshops and forums while at the same time initiating local projects of farm renovation and community empowerment.
  1. The international forum and the workshop gathered scholars at home and abroad, focusing on urgent issues—such as contemporary pandemics, multispecies encounters, climate change, and food shortage—in order to deepen discussions of local agricultural praxis and community empowerment.
  2. AEH also extended the endeavor to the fields, collaborating with the Qing-liu Village (Alang Gluban) and producing a documentary with an aim to reviving the tradition of weaving craftsmanship. In addition, AEH also teamed up with people in the Gong-lao-ping village to facilitate sustainable development and preserve water resources in slope lands.
